Using Call Automator Responsibly

Call Automator is a powerful tool. It makes real phone calls, speaks on your behalf, and can handle sensitive conversations with businesses and individuals. That power comes with real responsibility - and clear limits.

This article explains what we will and won't tolerate, and what happens if those limits are crossed.

What Call Automator is for

Call Automator is designed to handle legitimate, everyday tasks on your behalf - scheduling appointments, checking on orders, following up with service providers, asking questions, and more.

The goal is simple: save you time on calls you'd otherwise have to make yourself.

What is strictly prohibited

The following uses are never permitted under any circumstances:

  • Fraud or scams - using Call Automator to deceive someone into giving up money, personal information, account access, or anything of value

  • Impersonation - pretending to be another real person, a government agency, a financial institution, law enforcement, or any organization you are not authorized to represent

  • Phishing - attempting to collect sensitive information such as credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or bank account details

  • Harassment - placing repeated, unwanted, or threatening calls to any individual

  • Illegal robocalling - using Call Automator to place automated calls in violation of applicable laws, including the TCPA

  • Call bombing - flooding a person or organization with repeated calls to overwhelm or disrupt them

  • Debt collection abuse - using Call Automator in any way that violates consumer protection or debt collection laws

  • Any other use intended to harm, deceive, or exploit another person

How we enforce this

Every Call Automator request goes through an automated safety review before it proceeds. Requests that appear to violate this policy are flagged or blocked before the call is ever placed.

If a request raises a serious concern, it is escalated to our team for human review. In cases involving a real-world risk of harm, we reserve the right to contact or cooperate with relevant law enforcement authorities. We do not take that lightly - and we will not hesitate to act on it.

Accounts found in violation of this policy will be suspended. Depending on the severity, the suspension may be permanent.

A note on intent

We built Call Automator to make life easier for honest people. If you're ever unsure whether a call is appropriate, ask yourself: would I be comfortable if the person on the other end of this call knew exactly who sent it and why? If the answer is no, don't attempt to make it.

We're proud of what Call Automator can do. We intend to keep it that way.
