How does Phone Console identify itself on calls?

Updated over 5 months ago

When Phone Console makes a call on your behalf, it identifies itself clearly and professionally - but never mentions Loophole. The introduction is based entirely on your settings, and you have full control over how it presents itself.

Two Main Identification Options

Phone Console can introduce itself in one of two ways:

1. "This is [Your Name]"

  • Phone Console speaks as you directly

  • Example: "This is John Doe calling about my account."

  • Use this when you want the call to feel like you're making it yourself

2. "I'm calling on behalf of [Your Name]" (Default)

  • Phone Console speaks for you as your authorized representative

  • Example: "I'm calling on behalf of John Doe regarding claim number 45-7892."

  • This is the default setting if you haven't configured a preference yet

Important: The name Phone Console uses must match the name on your Loophole account. You cannot make it claim to be anyone else - not your lawyer, not a family member, not anyone other than you or your authorized representative.

Optional: Name Your Assistant

Some accounts can also give their Phone Console a specific "assistant name" for a more personalized experience. If you choose to do this, Phone Console might introduce itself as:

"Hi, this is Sarah calling on behalf of John Doe..."

This feature is available depending on your account settings.

What Phone Console Does NOT Say

  • Never mentions Loophole: Phone Console will not say it's calling from Loophole, through Loophole, or via any service.

  • Never claims to be a lawyer or legal professional: Phone Console cannot and will not pretend to have credentials it doesn't have.

  • Never misrepresents your identity: It cannot claim to be someone other than you or your representative.

Handling Follow-Up Questions

Phone representatives often ask clarifying questions like:

  • "What company are you with?"

  • "Who do you work for?"

  • "Are you the account holder?"

How Phone Console prepares:

Before every call, Research Console and Persona Console work together to anticipate likely follow-up questions based on your specific situation. They pre-prepare appropriate responses so Phone Console can answer naturally and confidently.

Example: If calling a veterinarian, Research Console would anticipate questions like "What's the pet's date of birth?" or "What medication is the pet currently on?" - and ensure those details are gathered from you beforehand.

Fallback strategy:

If Phone Console encounters an unexpected question it doesn't have information for, it will:

  1. Acknowledge the question professionally

  2. Explain it needs to verify that information

  3. Offer to call back with the details

  4. Report back to you in the Problem Dashboard for next steps

This ensures Phone Console never makes up information or misrepresents facts.

Changing Your Identification Settings

  • Default setting: You can set a default identification preference in your Phone Console settings

  • Per-Problem flexibility: You can change how Phone Console identifies itself for different Problems (ex: "This is..." for one call, "On behalf of..." for another)

  • Name is locked: You cannot change the name Phone Console uses - it must always match your Loophole account name

Tone vs. Identity

Your identification method is separate from the emotional tone you select.

  • Identity = Who Phone Console says it is ("This is John Doe" vs. "On behalf of John Doe")

  • Tone = How Phone Console delivers the message (Professional, Frustrated, Firm, Exhausted)

You can use any tone with either identification method. For example:

  • Professional tone with "This is John Doe"

  • Frustrated tone with "I'm calling on behalf of John Doe"

Before every call, you'll see the opening script and can approve it.

Your Legal Responsibility

Critical reminder: You are 100% responsible for ensuring your use of Phone Console is legal.

  • Phone Console acts only as your authorized representative

  • You must have the legal right to make the call and communicate on the matter

  • Different jurisdictions have different rules about authorized representatives

  • Misrepresenting yourself or using Phone Console for prohibited purposes violates our Terms of Service

If you're unsure whether a call is appropriate, consult a legal professional before proceeding.

Summary

Phone Console introduces itself clearly, professionally, and honestly:

  • Uses your name (as verified on your Loophole account)

  • Never mentions Loophole

  • Speaks either AS you or ON BEHALF of you (your choice)

  • Never claims credentials it doesn't have

  • Adapts to follow-up questions based on pre-planning or asks to call back

You maintain full control, review scripts before calls, and take responsibility for legal compliance.
