What if something changed after I got my quote?

Updated over 4 months ago

New details come up. The other party responds. A deadline gets moved. Your situation evolves between when you submitted your request and when you're reviewing your quote.

If your desired outcome is still the same, you don't need to stress about updating every detail before accepting.

You can add updates - but you don't have to

If you want to flag new developments or clarifications, use the "Add additional information" button on your quote.

Examples:

  • "The manager responded and denied my request"

  • "I found out there's a deadline in two weeks"

  • "They sent another email this morning escalating their position"

Where to find it: Open your quote, scroll to Situation Details, and click "Add additional information".

But here's the important part

You don't need to document every single development before accepting your quote.

Once you accept, Research Console will ask detailed follow-up questions to understand your complete situation - including anything that's changed since your initial request.

That's when the real information-gathering happens. The quote is based on your initial request and desired outcome. The actual strategy gets built after Research Console has all the facts.

For power users: World events

Behind the scenes, Loophole tracks developments as events tied to World items.

If you've already added your landlord, building, or business to your World, you can manually add events to their timeline:

  • Go to the relevant World item

  • Click the Events tab

  • Add the event with date, time, and details

Examples:

  • Building manager sent eviction warning

  • Elevator broke down

  • Landlord agreed to repair timeline

But you don't have to do this. When Research Console asks follow-up questions after you accept your quote, it will add these events for you based on what you share. This tracking happens automatically - you just provide the information conversationally.

Power users who want granular control can use World events. Everyone else can let Research Console handle it.

The sample workflow isn't your final plan

Remember: the sample workflow you see on your quote is just an example based on limited information.

Your actual workflow will be determined after Research Console gathers complete details through follow-up questions - including any new developments you haven't shared yet.

When you DO need to update

If your desired outcome has changed - meaning what you're trying to accomplish is now different - that's a separate issue.

Bottom line

New details? New developments? As long as your desired outcome is the same, you can accept your quote.

Research Console will gather everything it needs after acceptance.

The "Add additional information" button is there if you want to flag something upfront - but it's not required.
