How much does Call Automator cost?

Call Automator is usage-based - you only pay for the calls you actually make. There are no monthly fees for Call Automator itself, no minimums, and no charge for calls that are never placed.

The only recurring cost (if you choose it) is your custom phone number.

Phone number

Before you can use Call Automator, you'll need at least one active phone number set up. There are two options:

  • Custom Phone Number - $3/month (RECOMMENDED)
A dedicated US phone number that's yours exclusively, displayed to recipients when Call Automator calls.

  • Verified Phone Number - Free
Uses the number already on your Loophole account as the outgoing caller ID.

You can use one or both. For full setup details, see How do I set up a phone number for Call Automator?

Pricing

Every call request is billed using three components:

1. Base fee - $1 per request (not per call)
Charged once per Call Automator request, not per attempt. If a single Call Automator request results in multiple call attempts (ex: retry after 30 minutes), you're still only charged the $1 base fee once.

2. Conversation time - $0.50/minute.
Time spent connected to and talking with someone. Rounded up to the next full minute - so 3 minutes and 20 seconds is billed as 4 minutes.

3. Hold time - $0.15/minute.
Time spent in hold queues, navigating phone trees, or waiting for a transfer. Also rounded up to the next full minute - so even a 20-second hold counts as 1 minute.

Examples

Check Party Attendance (to person)

  • Base fee: 1 request = $1.00

  • Conversation: 1 min × $0.50 = $0.50

  • Hold time: 0 min = $0.00

  • Total cost: $1.50

Reschedule Haircut (to business)

  • Base fee: 1 request = $1.00

  • Conversation: 2 min × $0.50 = $1.00

  • Hold time: 1 min × $0.15 = $0.15

  • Total cost: $2.15

What you'll see after the call

Every Call Automator call ends with a full cost breakdown in your dashboard, including total conversation time, total hold time, and exact cost calculation. No estimates, no surprises. You are billed for call time immediately after a call ends.

Transaction Logs

You can also check your transaction logs for a more precise breakdown.

Tip: The 'Call ID' from the Call Automator 'Call Timeline' is the 'Reference' column in your transaction logs.

When you're not charged

You pay $0 in the following cases:

  • The number is on Loophole's global block list. The call is never placed.
See: Why won't Call Automator call certain numbers?

  • The call doesn't succeed. If no one answers and no voicemail is left - your total is $0 - regardless of how many attempts were made. The $1 base fee only applies once Call Automator leaves a voicemail or actually speaks with someone.

Guarantee & Refunds

If no one answers, no voicemail is left, the callback period ends, and your AI assistant never speaks to anyone - your total would be $0 - so your $1 base fee would be refunded to your available account balance automatically.

If a voicemail was left or your AI assistant speaks to someone - your $1 base fee will not be refunded and you will be charged for the call time.

If you have any questions regarding billing - please ask your AI assistant or open a support ticket.
