Call Automator can answer certain callbacks, but it is not built to be your business’s always-on phone assistant.
It is designed for specific call requests that you start - such as calling a vendor, confirming an appointment, rescheduling something, or reaching a business/individual on your behalf.
When Call Automator can answer a call:
If your AI assistant places a call and the recipient calls back, Call Automator may be able to answer that return call.
For example, if your AI assistant calls a business and they miss the call - they may call back later. If your request is still active or your Callback Window is open, your AI assistant can answer with the same goal, same script, and same context.
That callback is tied to the original request. It is not a general answering service.
When Call Automator is not the right fit:
Call Automator is not designed to:
Answer your business phone all day
Handle new inbound customer calls
Act as your front desk or receptionist
Book appointments from new callers
Manage reschedules from customers calling your business directly
Route callers to staff members
Replace your business phone system
If someone is calling your business number for the first time, that is not a Call Automator callback. That is an inbound business call.
For inbound business calls:
If you want an AI assistant that answers your business phone, books appointments, handles reschedules, captures missed-call leads, or manages customer calls - use AI Receptionist.
AI Receptionist is a Business account feature built for inbound call handling.
