What happens to my files if I delete my account?

Updated over 5 months ago

They're deleted. Permanently. All of them.

When you request account deletion, every file you've uploaded to Loophole is wiped from our systems - and there is no way to recover them.

What gets deleted

  • All uploaded files
Every document, image, PDF, spreadsheet, or other file you've stored.

  • File metadata
Display names, notes, AI descriptions, thumbnails - everything associated with your files.

This deletion is immediate and permanent

  • Files are removed from our storage system

  • Database records are purged (associated AI data)

  • There is no recovery period, backup copy, or "undo" option

  • Even Loophole cannot restore your files after account deletion

Before you delete your account

If there's any chance you'll need your files later - go to your Files page and download any documents, images, or records you want to keep.

Legal or audit holds

In rare cases, if your files are subject to a legal or audit hold, Loophole may retain certain records as required by law - but you will no longer have access to them.

This is an exception, not the rule. For most users, deletion means total and immediate removal.

Account deletion is permanent. Files deletion is permanent. There are no second chances - so download anything you need before you delete your account.
