You can upload files directly to your Loophole account from the Files page in your dashboard. This stores your documents, images, videos, and other files securely in the cloud - making them accessible anytime and ready to use with Loophole tools.
Important: You must have an Active account to upload files. If your account is on the Waitlist, you won't be able to upload files until your account is activated.
How to upload a file
Go to your Files page
Navigate to the Files section in your account dashboard.Choose your upload method
You can either:Click the "Upload Files" button
Drag and drop files directly into the upload area
Select your file(s)
Choose one or multiple files from your device. Files upload directly to secure cloud storage.Wait for upload to complete
You'll see a progress indicator showing the upload percentage. Don't close the page until the upload finishes, which typically takes a few seconds.AI processing begins automatically
After upload completes, Loophole AI analyzes your file in the background. This typically takes 10 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on file size and type.
Important: Files attached to active Problems are protected to prevent data loss during ongoing work.
Upload via text message
Text images, documents, or videos directly to Loophole and they'll automatically upload to your Files within seconds.
Important: Files uploaded via text message do not preserve EXIF data (location, date taken, camera info, etc.). If you need this metadata preserved, upload files manually from the website instead.
To get the phone number: Go to your Files page, click the dropdown arrow next to "Upload Files", and select "Upload via Text" to see the number.
Capture a website screenshot
Click the dropdown arrow next to "Upload Files" and select "Website Screenshot" to capture a full-page screenshot of any website. Just enter the URL and Loophole will save the screenshot to your Files.
What file types can I upload?
Loophole supports most common file types, including:
Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC/HEIF
Documents: PDF, DOCX, DOC, MD
Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, MKV
Audio: MP3, WAV, AAC
For security, we block executable files like .exe, .php, .js, and .zip files.
File size limits
The maximum file size is 2GB per file. Most documents, images, and short videos will be well under this limit.
If you need to upload files larger than 2GB, consider:
Compressing the file
Splitting it into multiple parts
Uploading a lower-resolution version (for videos)
What happens after I upload?
Once your file uploads successfully:
It appears in your Files list
You'll see the file card with a thumbnail (if applicable) and basic information.AI processes the file
Loophole AI automatically analyzes the content:For images: Generates a descriptive title and detailed description
For documents: Extracts text via OCR
For videos: Transcribes audio and generates a summary
You can add details
Click the file to add notes, rename it, or associate it with a specific business.It's ready to use
Your file is now stored securely and can be used with any Loophole tool or referenced in Problem submissions.
Account status requirements
Active accounts only. File uploads require an Active account status. Here's what each status means:
Waitlist: Cannot upload files. Account is pending application submission.
Pending: Cannot upload files. Application is under review.
Active: β Can upload files and use all features.
Frozen: Cannot upload files. Account requires payment to restore access.
If you're on the Waitlist and need to upload files, you can activate your account by completing the application process and adding funds.
Storage limits
Every account has a storage plan with monthly limits:
Free: 1GB
Basic: 50GB ($10/month)
Pro: 200GB ($25/month)
Business: 500GB ($40/month)
You can view your current storage usage on the Files page. If you're approaching your limit, you'll see a notification - and you can upgrade your storage plan anytime.

Upload failed or stuck?
Ensure your file is under 2GB
Ensure you have an 'Active' account
Check your internet connection
Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
Clear your browser cache and try again

File says "Processing Failed"?
Our system will automatically retry AI processing after every 5 minutes. You don't need to stay on the page for this to occur.
After 20 minutes of 'Processing Failed', our system will automatically notify the team.
If you see the same 'Processing Failed' message longer than 24 hours, please contact support for assistance.
Don't see your file after upload?
Make sure the upload progress reached 100%
Refresh the Files page
Search for it using the search box on the files page
Deleting files
You can delete files anytime by clicking the file card and selecting "Delete."
This is permanent. Deleted files are removed from our system and cannot be recovered - so make sure you have a backup copy if you'll need the file later.
Important: Once you delete a file from Loophole, it's permanently removed from our systems - and there is no way to recover it. This is a hard delete, not a "trash bin" situation. When you confirm deletion, the file is gone immediately and irreversibly. Our agents can NOT recover your file for you.
