How do Custom Fields work?

Updated over a week ago

Every World entry type has a fixed set of fields - name, phone, notes, and so on. But your situation might require something more specific.

Custom fields let you add whatever metadata you need, without limits.

Where to Find Them

Open any World entry, then click the More tab. Any existing custom fields are listed there. To add or edit them, click Add Custom Field - this opens the custom fields editor.

Adding a Custom Field

Each custom field has two parts:

  • Title - What the field is (max 100 characters). Example: Account number

  • Value - The data itself (max 500 characters). Example: ACCT-00291847

Click + Add Custom Field to add as many as you need. Fields with no content are ignored when saving - so partial or blank fields won't clutter your entry.

Suggestions Carousel

If you haven't added any custom fields yet, you'll see a scrolling carousel of ideas tailored to that entry type:

  • Business: Account number, Contract end date, Support PIN

  • Vehicle: Loan account number, Warranty expiration

  • Pet: Microchip ID, Insurance policy number

  • Person: Employee ID, Birthday preference, Emergency contact

  • Property: Lease end date, HOA contact, Parking spot

  • Asset: Serial number, Purchase receipt number, Insurance claim ID

These are just suggestions - tap any one to pre-fill the Title, then add your value.

Custom Fields vs. Notes

Use notes for free-form thoughts, context, or history that doesn't need to be looked up precisely.

Use custom fields for structured data you might reference later - account numbers, expiration dates, policy numbers, PINs - anything you'd want Loophole AI to know about when helping you with a related task.
