What are Activity Logs?

Updated over 3 months ago

Activity Logs track major actions on your Loophole account - giving you a clear timeline of what happened, when it happened, and from which IP address.

Think of it as your account's security camera. If something changes, you'll see it here.

What gets logged?

Activity Logs capture important account events across different areas of Loophole:

Files

  • Uploaded {file_type} file "{file_name}" - When you upload a new file

  • Deleted {file_type} file "{file_name}" - When you delete a file

  • Storage upgrade/downgrade - When you change your storage plan

Note: Detailed file history (edits, renames, business associations) lives on each individual file - not in Activity Logs.

World (Directory)

  • Created new {entry_type} entry in world: {name} - When you add a Person, Business, Pet, Vehicle, Asset, or Property

  • Deleted {entry_type} entry in world: {name} - When you remove an entry

Note: Individual entry updates (phone changes, address edits, etc.) are tracked on each directory entry - not in Activity Logs.

Search & Prompts

  • Search submissions - When you use the main search

  • Appeal submissions - When you appeal a "Not Supported" decision

Account Settings

  • Name change requested - When you request to change your name (requires admin approval)

  • Name change approved/rejected - Admin decision on your name change request

  • Time zone changed - When you update your preferred time zone

  • Referral program activated - When you activate your referral code

Credentials & Security

  • Credential added - When you store new login credentials for services

  • Credential updated - When you edit stored credentials

  • Credential deleted - When you remove stored credentials

  • Email account connected/disconnected - When you link or unlink email accounts

Your AI Training

  • AI training data deleted - When you delete all your training answers

  • AI training answer deleted - When you delete a specific answer

  • AI training answer edited - When you edit a training answer

Quotes

  • Quote declined - When you decline a quote

  • Quote expired - When a quote reaches its expiration date (automatic)

  • Quote auto-deleted - When an expired/declined quote is automatically removed (automatic)

  • Quote context updated - When you add additional information to a quote

Where to find your Activity Logs

What you'll see

Each log entry shows three key pieces of information:

  • Date/Time - Displayed in your preferred time zone (set in Settings β†’ Preferences). All times shown in Mountain Time (or your selected zone).

  • Activity - What happened, in plain language with specific details

  • IP Address - Where the action came from

  • Entries from your current IP are labeled "Your current IP" in green for easy identification

  • System and admin actions (like auto-deletions, approvals) show no IP address for privacy

How long are logs kept?

Activity Logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.

This keeps your dashboard clean and ensures logs don't accumulate indefinitely. If you need a permanent record of something, download or screenshot it before the 30-day window expires.

Who can see my Activity Logs?

  • You - Always visible in your account

  • Loophole Support - Can access logs when assisting with your account

  • Loophole AI - Can reference logs when helping you troubleshoot or track activity

Your Activity Logs are private and never shared with third parties.

Activity Logs give you:

  • Security awareness - Spot unusual activity or unauthorized access by checking IP addresses

  • Change tracking - See exactly what changed and when across your entire account

  • Troubleshooting - Reference past actions when something isn't working as expected

  • Accountability - Know exactly what happened on your account, whether you did it or we did

If you see something unexpected in your logs - especially from an unfamiliar IP address - contact support immediately.

What Activity Logs DON'T show

To keep Activity Logs focused on major events, detailed activity for individual items is tracked separately:

  • File-specific actions (renames, notes, business associations) - View these on each file's individual history. You can also see these in the Files Logs tab

  • World entry updates (phone changes, address edits) - View these on each directory item's individual logs. You can also see these in the World Logs tab

  • Login history/attempts - See these in the Login History tab (separate from Activity Logs)

  • Credit transactions - See these in the Transaction Logs tab
